Someone told me that koi breed well when your pond has water lilies because that's where (the stems/roots) they attach the eggs. Any truth to this?

yeah probably it would lay eggs on plants, but kois are not good when it comes to parenting. They spawn or lay eggs anywhere, on walls, on the pond floor, or some would probably float above. The best way as experts say is to collect the eggs and incubate them, meaning put them on a separate pond or container or aquarium. Because other kois especially those immature ones would eat the eggs altogether with their food. I'll post something in relation to this topic. Included are koi reproduction, spawning, incubation, hatching or fry, first feeding and koi growth. Try to look for it in the KOI TOPIC section.
