Can koi breed in your pond where all the other koi are in or should you have a separate pond/vat/container for koi who are about to breed?

Yeah, I've read that they can breed in the pond, bigger kois lay lots, i mean lots of eggs. But only few would hatch, it would probably due to cannibalism, which is not so unusual, especially with smaller kois, they would think that those eggs are food. Or sometimes it would get along the food that bigger kois gulp. So better if you seperate the eggs in another vat with proper aeration. Try reading on the Koi Topic section.
